Rava Upma

                                                                    UPMA

                                                                                                                                                                    Servings    : 4 People
                                                        Cooking Time : 15 minutes

 Ingredients

(1)Rava                              -     5oo gms
(2)Water                            -       2  1/2 cups
(3)Onion                            -      2
(4)Green chillies               -       5
(5)Ginger                          -      1inchpiece
(6)Grated Carrot               -   1/2cup
(7)Cookingoil                   -   2 tbsp
(8)Salt                              -   As required
(9)Curry Leaves               -   2 or 3
(10)Red Chillies               -   3 or 4

Method

Take a frying pan and roast the rava for 5 minutes stirring continuously.Keep it aside.Then take some oil and pour in the frying pan.When it becomes hot put mustard seeds and when it starts spluttering put red chillies ,curry leaves and onion.When onion becomes light brown in colour put ginger,grated carrot and salt.Stir it for 5 minutes.Then put 2 ½ cups of water and when it comes to boil put the roasted rava into it .Stir with a spatula and cover with a lid.Cook for five minutes.

A tasty upma will be ready within 15 minutes.This recipe can be made for breakfast as well as dinner also.

Bread Omelette

Bread Omelette
Servings : 4 people
Cooking Time : 20 Minutes
Ingredients

(1)Bread                       - 2 Packets
(2)Eggs                        -  8 
(3) Chopped                 - 2
(4)Green Chillies         - 4
(5)Chopped Ginger      -1/2 tsp
(6)Turmeric Powder    - 1/4 tsp
(7)Pepper Powder        - 1/4 tsp
(8)Red chilly Powder  - 1/2 tsp
(9)Salt                          - As Required
(10)Ghee                      -  25 gm


Method

(1)Take a medium bowl .Break 6 eggs into it.
(2)Add chopped onion,green chillies,chopped ginger,turmeric powder,pepper powder,red chilly      powder & salt.Mix it properly with a spoon.
(3)Then take each slice of bread & spread ghee on it & dip in the above mixture & roast on a tava.
(4)Repeat this process on each slice of bread.

This is an easy, nutritious & time saving breakfast.........Children will love to eat it !!!!

Vegetable Biriyani

      Vegetable Biriyani
      

Servings : 4 people
Cooking time : 30 minutes
                               Ingredients

(1) Basmati rice                          - 1 3/4 glass
(2) Carrot                                      - 2 
(3) Beans                                      -  6
(4) Green peas soaked overnight    - 1/2 cup
(5) Capsicum                               - 2
(6) Onion                                     - 2
(7) Green chillies                         - 4 to 5
(8) Ginger                                    - a small piece
(9) Pepper  powder                      - 1 tsp
(10) Aniseed powder                   - 2 tsp
(11)Cloves                                   - 3 or 4
(12)Garlic                                    - 10 to 12
(13) Salt                                       - As required
(14)Ghee                                      - 1 tbsp 
(15) Cashew nut                           - 15 pieces
(16)Coriander leaves                    - 1 bunch

                       Method

(1)Soak Rice for 10 to 15 minutes before cooking.Rice is soaked so that it will be cooked quickly.
(2)Boil Rice till it is cooked.It takes almost 15 minute to cook basmati rice.
(3)Cut all vegetables into small pieces.
(4)Take a frying pan.
(5)Pour some oil and saute onion for a few minutes.When it turns into light brown colour,put all the shredded vegetables into it.
(6)Cover with a lid & cook for 5 minutes.
(7)Then open the lid and put pepper powder,aniseed powder,cloves and salt in it.
(8)Take a pressure cooker & boil green peas.
(9)Take another frying pan & pour 1 tbsp ghee & fry cashew nuts.
(10)Now mix the cooked rice & the vegetable masalas & put the boiled green peas in it.
(11)Garnish with fried cashew nuts & coriander leaves .
(12)Now the Biriyani is ready to eat..................

How to make delicious kheer

cooking time  30 minutes                                                                         Servings : 4 People

                               Ingredients

(1) Vermicilli                      -  1 cup
(2)  Milk                            - 1 litre
(3)  Water                          - 1 1/2 cup
(4) Cashew Nuts                -    15
(5)  Raisins                         -    10
(6)  Soaked Sago               -  1/2 cup
(7) Ghee                             -   1 cup
(8) Sugar                            -  1 cup
(9) Powdered cardamoms  -   1 teaspoon


                                   Method


(1) Take a frying pan .Place it on the stove & heat it.
(2)  Then pour 1/4 cup ghee in the frying pan .
(3) Fry the vermicilli in the ghee till it becomes light brown .Then put off the stove.
(4) Boil sago in another vessel(Sago should be soaked in the water atleast 6 hours before making Kheer).
(5) Take another vessel and boil 1 1/2 cup of water in it.When the water starts boiling put roasted vermicilli  in it & stir it continuously atleast for 15 minutes.
(6) Boil the milk in another vessel when the vermicilli is cooked .Pour the boiled milk ,sago & sugar in the  vermicilli & stir it for 5 minutes . Then put off the stove.
(7) Take one frying pan and pour the remaining ghee in it & fry the cashewnuts & raisins seperately.
(8) Decorate with fried cashew nuts , raisins & powdered cardamoms........
(9) Now the mouth watering kheer is ready to be served...........!!!!!!!!
